Party Wrap Up
Wendy was wonderfully surprised for her party. The food went down fast and everyone was amused by the twins. It was confirmed for Wendy, multiple times, that there were no more surprises...none.
After everyone left, we decided to go down to Wendy & Bob's beach hut. It is a small structure down on the beach that holds a stove, chairs, towels and really whatever else you could imagine. I told Wendy that if I had one, I would have a crystal ball that would slide out after nightfall to provide ambiance for my guests and inspiration for my night moves. Wendy just gave that polite "Mike is an idiot" laugh...or maybe she was just laughing at this:
It was a beautiful night and the five us watched the sun sink on the horizon. We watched a cruise ship head out along the Solent. After consulting a local ship guide, posted on the front of a tea shop next door, we found that it was the newer version of a ship that Alan once served on. The ships, including such namesake's as the Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mary II, pass within one mile of the beach.
