The Inside Story
For years I've used this blog as an outlet for my personal adventures, while keeping the work I do professionally separate. With everything going on the last few months, the line is blurring. I find both my personal and professional adventures incredibly fulfilling. It's my "hobby" that keeps my professional life sane and my professional life that keeps me so involved in my "hobby." It's a crazy balance and I wouldn't have it any other way.
For those who know me in one world, and not the other, it's always funny when they bridge the gap. Cognitive dissonance at its best.
In light of my Weber Experience and some of the other TV grilling I've done lately, my good friend Holly, who I've worked with for years, put it all together in a story. I think she did a great job, even if the source material (me) is a little dodgy.
As far as the food goes, I should have made more. The three of us, including her videographer, Matt, ate it all.
The shrimp were skewered with cedar, stuffed with gouda, and wrapped in prosciutto. Grilled about 8 minutes until opaque. They are bite size heaven. The cedar skewers add a hint of wood from the inside, which is very, very cool.
The salad is a go-to-favorite adaption from a Bobby Flay book. In essence, it's grilled steak over greens with a hot pepper vinaigrette dressing. Absolutely killer and I just checked, I can't believe I haven't written about it before.
I need to add it to my "to-do" list.
Cheers, and Happy Grilling!
