Cinnful Cider

Cinnful Cider

As you have no doubt noticed in your grocery store aisles, cider drinking continues to grow.  A-B InBev has even brought Stella Artois Cidre across the Atlantic.  Everyone is getting in.  Everyone.

Even with the ever increasing field, Angry Orchard is still at the top of the bushel, currently ranked first in the US for hard cider sales.

This fall the Angry Orchard line-up is expanding with their newest seasonal style: Cinnful Apple.

Of particular note, Cinnful Apple is the first Angry Orchard offering to use apples grown in the US.  All previous styles were made with European apples.  I imagine sourcing local apples is also a lot cheaper.  Of course I could talk all day long, but what about the most important question: How does it taste?

Cinnful Apple

Well, great!  I never know how to take a glass of cider, as whatever preconceived notion I conjure up seems to be completely wrong, a la my experience with Strawman and Iceman.

First, the cider poured a light straw color.  I was expecting something darker.  Second, it was not as sweet as I thought it would be.  In fact, it was just right, and the hint of cinnamon was just enough to be interesting and not distracting.

It felt good to be cinnful.

Note: Cinnful Apple was provided to me by the great folks at Angry Orchard.  The opinions, as well as the apple tree pictured above, are my own.
