Burgers, Cameras, and Spring
I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe it’s May. Winter has been wicked this year in the midwest. Even though it has been our fourth (or so) largest snowfall...ever, the weather and cold has only been a grilling inconvenience. Not a show stopper.
Things are crazy.
While I tend to only post here weekly, be sure to follow me on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook for more (actually much more) daily goings on. I tend to tease things I’m working on like this:
this:
or this:
Of course, a lot of my recent work can be found on the blog at Weber.com.
In April, I’ve been talking about Weber’s latest Grilling Cookbook: Big Book of Burgers. If you have not already picked up a copy, I suggest you do. It’s brilliant.
As soon as I got a copy, I sent Dad one for his birthday. When they get home from the sunny southwest, I’m looking forward to a grilled dinner from him!
Speaking of Weber, last week I had the pleasure of teaching a class on “Grillography” at the Weber campus.
Better yet, here is my post on Grillography. As you know, there is nothing nearer to my heart than a photo of a perfectly grilled ribeye.
While APP is about photography, I realized I never really talk about photography. The Weber post is a great primer as far how I approach what I do. If you want to hear more, let me know in the comments.
With “the class” out of the way, I spent some time on the grills with a trio of awesome Grill Masters. Our very own Kevin Kohlman, as well Michael P. Clive from Weber Canada and Felipe Salcedo from Weber Mexico. Let me tell you, these guys can grill.
While the Grill Masters went on to do their thing, I spent the day with Jennie Lussow, who runs the Weber R&D test kitchen.
Yes, we grilled indoors. Jennie and I grilled up a storm, which will be featured in a future video I’m working on. The entire day was a blast.
So, anything else?
Yes, short ribs, and a lots, lots more. Grill on friends. I will keep you posted!
Note: I have a paid relationship with Weber. However, these thoughts and words are my own. Also, my love for this great company far preceded our business relationship. That is all.
