From Around the Grill

From Around the Grill

At times, life is a sprint and others, a marathon. I'm fine with both, just as long as I'm moving in the right direction on the right side of the dirt. Years ago, I read a "blogging tip" stating not to apologize for gaps in posting. Even though this guy's blog has closed up shop, I'm going to follow his advice. This is not an apology for not posting anything since the end of May.

I feel better already.

Realistically, I'm posting to Instagram and making great use of Instagram Stories every day. OK, perhaps the word great might be a little self-indulgent. I, at least, think it's great...and fun.

Summer is always a busy time and for me, it's been chock full of projects.

My biggest chunk of time has been towards something I can't even talk about yet. Those are the best.

Over the next couple weeks (I swear) I'll dig into my latest Weber videos, Beer Can Chicken and Bananas Flambe.

I also talk about sponsored content with Duckchar. Oh, how I love duck breasts.

I've also been enjoying the benefits of Orca Coolers.

I've been working with Feed the Party where you can now see my work on their retail packaging.

A few weeks ago, Brian and Keith joined me for a Grilling Demo at our local community "Taste." It was no small coincidence we were located next to the Hooters booth. I swear.

We grilled up jalapeno poppers, banana boats, and reverse seared some massive strip steaks on the Weber Summit Charcoal Grill. It was a fantastic event.

Summer has also been full of entertaining and partying with friends.

If a grill is lit, friends are coming.

I even pulled out the elusive blue WSM for a throwback Thursday!

On a different path, I had the great opportunity to photograph the performance of my good friends in the Brothers in Arms Band who opened for Rob Zombie at the Rose Music Center last week.

In full disclosure, I also photographed our dinner, so I did work food into the shoot.

They pulled off an epic performance I was thrilled to memorialize for them.

Speaking of the Rose, Bryan, from the band, as well as Keith, Brian, and I will be back at the Rose on July 29th to cater the VIP area for the Switchfoot/Lifehouse show. They are looking to expand their options so this will be a test. If all goes well, we will probably handle a show in August, too. If you are in the area and have tickets, swing by and say hello. We will save you a banana boat!

There is lots more on tap. Including some new, finally, content here.

I hope your summer is great!

Now, back to work...
