Britain's Got Talent

Last night, we caught an episode of Britain's Got Talent, which is obviously a relative of the US version, America's Got Talent. I was not a big fan of the US version, which I believe is now in its second running, but I did get a few laughs out of the British version. Mostly because of the better judges and hosts. The British version brings Simon Cowell, as well as perennial hosts Ant & Dec. At home we trade off Simon Cowell for "The Hoff" and I have no idea who the host is. Ant & Dec might also be recognized to US viewers for their short cameo in Love Actually.

Anyway...the point of this is...the winner of Britain's Got Talent gets to perform in front of the Queen...that is the, or at least part of, the big prize. So, in keeping with the jackpot theme, they keep asking the contestants about how their act would be viewed by the Queen. It is a pretty neat idea. However, what in the world is the "goal" in the US. I mean you are already performing in front of "The Hoff". For some, that is honors enough. Any ideas?
