A little Fish & Chips
We decided to go ultra traditional for lunch today and had Fish & Chips. We landed at Long John Eater...which I am guessing is the slightly more hungry cousin of Long John Silvers. The place was fairly empty, so we made our way up to the second floor where we took a window seat that overlooked the esplanade. The waitress came to our table to take our order and we both settled on plates of cod. Although the waitress was fast with our order and drinks, the food took some time. I was a little surprised seeing that we were before the lunch hour and the place was relatively slow.
When our food arrived, it was hot. Although Zoe felt that there was a little too much breading on the fish, I found mine just right. My only complaint is having to use packets for ketchup and tartar sauce. This is a trend that I am sure started from trying to reduce waste. However, I never seem to get enough and when I do, I have a stack of empty packets about as high as my water glass.
As friends will attest, I am probably the last person that should review food, seeing that I will eat about anything. In fact, being away, I want to branch out - there are some cockles in my future - but I want to enjoy the things I rarely get to have and know that I really, really like. So if you want to see what a human dustbin likes, stay tuned...if you want a professional opinion, go to the professionals.
