7 Beers to Christmas: Festivus Ale
Prepare to air your grievances, as I’m about to air mine. I wish I had another bottle of Festivus Ale.
Now, on to “Feats of Strength."
For anyone who was a devout fan of the TV show Seinfeld, or for that matter even a casual viewer, the celebration of Festivus is nothing new. While originally “celebrated” by the family of one of the show’s writers, it was written into a 1997 episode and has since taken on a life of its own. How so, you ask? Well, there’s a Festivus Ale.
Why have a Christmas Ale, when you can have a Festivus Ale. It’s “a Festivus for the rest of us."
From Full Pint Brewing Company in North Versailles, PA, Festivus Ale may be a gimmicky beer, but it is also a really good beer.
It’s a malty, nutty, brown ale with an undercurrent of hops which doesn’t really hit you till the very end. It was excellent. My brown ale friends would certainly approve.
My only fault with this post is putting it out tonight. Festivus is celebrated on December 23rd. I should have done a little more “research."
