A logo!
Over the last month, you may have noticed something different on either this webpage, or my email newsletter. No, my grammar isn’t better, but thanks for thinking of it. On the other hand, yes, I now have a logo.
I didn’t say “new” logo, as I’ve never really had a proper logo. Using my rather lackluster graphic design skill, I created the header of this page that consisted solely of a photograph and some text. It worked, but I felt it was missing a lot. On social, my logo is my bald head. Identifiable, but hardly communicative of what I do. The perfect image of Another Pint Please was elusive. Until now.
Let me rewind a bit. For several years, I have been using wood grilling planks from Outdoor Gourmet in Sandpoint, Idaho. Not only are their products and planks my absolute favorite, the people behind the company are simply awesome. While Outdoor Gourmet sells planks direct to the consumer, they also do extensive private labeling for grocery stores and markets including Albertsons and Whole Foods. In fact, they will brand any image or logo to a plank. Enter me.
For well over a year, I’ve talked about having a proper logo and the fabulous Katie at Outdoor Gourmet was constantly asking me when it was ready, as she wanted to brand some planks for me. When it became obvious I wasn’t cranking anything out, she took it upon herself to put one together.
In the matter of a few weeks, Katie had a design together based on some feedback from me. It was a little bit beer, a little bit flame, and a little bit me. I loved it, and no sooner had I said, “Yes!”, a box of officially branded Another Pint Please planks showed up.
The planks, much like the logo that adores them, are absolutely fabulous. I can’t thank Katie and her team enough.
Note: While Outdoor Gourmet provided me the logo and planks, my thoughts on their products are my own. If I didn’t like and believe in what they do, I wouldn’t talk about it.
