Nachos, Skewers, & Fat Jack: Relatively Wordless Wednesday
It's football season, and that means one thing to me: nachos. Yeah, I know, not exactly what you were expecting, but seeing you are reading APP, I think you probably were.
Nachos is one of those "foods" I probably shouldn't eat with as much zeal but put a plate in front of me and I guarantee in no time flat, you will actually see the plate.
How do I make nachos better? I put them on the grill. Take your favorite cast iron griddle and stack away. 10 minutes with indirect heat is all you need.
Nachos....mmmmhh.
Skirt steak makes for incredible skewers. I should probably do a post about these, but for now I'll show you the results.
A thick marinade and four minutes on the grill makes for an easy meal. I'm prepping this for a live TV appearance this week, but for these photos here, practice makes lunch.
It's September, which means here comes the pumpkin beers. Wait, who am I kidding? They've been on the shelves for a month. However, I've been waiting for September to actual enjoy them. One of my favorites is Samuel Adams Fat Jack. While anymore pumpkin-anything is a dime a dozen, Fat Jack has been one of my favorite the last few years.
Rounding out Fat Jack is the Samuel Adams Fall Variety Pack. The standout here for me is Hoppy Red. A hoppy amber ale that has a rather interesting, and as stated, resinous hop load. I've always had a special place in my heart for malty amber ales and the inclusion of Australian and New Zealand hops has made this a standout. I'm looking forward to more.
Wow...that's a Wednesday. I hope yours is just as good.
Note: My fabulous friends at Samuel Adams provided me with samples of Fat Jack and the Fall Variety Pack. They went along great with the Fat Jack and Fall Variety Pack I had on hand. I plan for these things and as always, the opinions stated are mine.
