3 Beers to Christmas: Iniquity
Iniquity was interesting. In a good way.
Billed as a IBA (Imperial Black Ale), Iniquity's grain bill consisted mostly of 2-row, some unbittered black malt, and a lot of hops. I would describe the hops as a comfortable undercurrent. There was no denying they were there, but they were far from intrusive. They just kind of hung out from beginning to end and I never wanted to kick them out.
I've had a number of beers lately that were hop forward, but presented themselves to the contrary. Iniquity is one of them, and definitely one I would like to be surprised by again.
